Chelsea forward Diego Costa has been given extra time off by Chelsea, increasing the tension concerning his leaving during this summer transfer window.
The 28-year old, has been linked with a move having been told he is not part of manager Antonio Conte’s plans.
Costa did not train on Monday, with both parties understood to be keen to avoid unnecessary distractions.
According to a statement on the club’s website.it read:
“It was agreed with the club that he should have an extra few days off.”
Costa is expected to stay away for at least the remainder of this week and a deal for him to leave the club could go through in the coming weeks.
