After weeks of heightened anticipation, Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time” is to debut in cinemas tomorrow, March 9.
The movie is an American science fantasy adventure film directed by Ava DuVernay from a screenplay by Jennifer Lee, based on the 1962 novel of the same name by Madeleine L’Engle.
It follows the life of a young girl who, with the help of three astral travelers, sets off on a quest to find her father, who went missing after discovering a new planet.
The movie stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peña, Storm Reid, Zach Galifianakis, Chris Pine among others.
So far, “A Wrinkle in Time” has received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the film’s cast, ambition and empowering messages, but criticized its convoluted plot, tone, dialogue, character development and overuse of CGI visual effects.
