Trump has reportedly invited Kanye West, Mike Tyson, former San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick and more to the White House for a race summit.
Pastor Darrell Scott and spiritual advisor to President Trump is said to be organising the event that aims to gather a range of athletes and musical artists at the White House for a discussion about race.
Scott said that he spent about 20 minutes with the President at the Oval Office and Trump is “100%” for the race summit. “He was very enthusiastic about it,” Scott added.
The Pastor also said that it won’t “be a black-only event,” stating that it will be more of “a melting pot.”
Speaking at a National Rifle Association convention in Dallas, Trump said “Kanye West must have some power because you probably saw, I doubled my African-American poll numbers. We went from 11% to 22% in one week.”
“Thank you, Kanye, thank you,” Trump added. “Even the pollsters thought there must be some mistake. No, we’ve come a long way.”
