Dr. Dre is reportedly working on a biopic on legendary musician, Marvin Gaye.
According to reports, the rapper who is in the early stages of the movie has also secured the rights to use Gaye’s songs for the movie.
There have been many attempts to adapt Gaye’s story into a biopic, but none have been able to see the light of day. The most recent attempt was that of Jamie who announced in 2016 he was working on producing a TV series about Gaye’s life after getting authorization from the Gaye’s family.
However, with Dr. Dre who has featured in films like “Training Day” and “Car Wash,” as well as produced the movie “Straight Outta Compton,” which chronicled the rise of his hip-hop group N.W.A, the biopic is expected to see progress and hit the big screens soon.
Marvin Gaye, is known as one of the most successful soul artists in history. Before his death in 1984, he had hits songs such as “What’s Going On,” “Sexual Healing,” and “Let’s Get It On” to his credits.
