Ed Sheeran‘s promoter Stuart Galbraith is facing legal action from ticket resale site Viagogo for an alleged multi-million-pound fraud.
Mr. Galbraith, the head of Kilimanjaro Live, is accused of setting up fake Viagogo stalls at venues where Sheeran was scheduled to play.
At the stalls, fans with genuine tickets were allegedly told that their tickets were void and told to buy new ones and seek refunds from Viagogo.
The claim, filed in a German court, accuses Mr. Galbraith of “confiscating thousands of genuine tickets at the gate, forcing fans to buy new tickets, and pocketing millions of pounds in duplicate sales.”
Reacting, Mr. Galbraith has said he is not aware of any legal proceedings.
The legal move by Viagogo comes only a week after it was announced that the ticket resale site faces its own High Court battle.
The Competition and Markets Authority (The CMA) confirmed the legal action after it was claimed that the site failed to comply with the new regulations.
