It seems Ed Sheeran’s sabbatical from music in 2015 has seriously done a whole lot of good to his music career.
He had said: “My plan is to get rid of my iPhone, get rid of the internet, get a Nokia 3310 and just go off into the wilderness somewhere for a bit, even if it’s just a month without contact with other people.”
Well, Ed Sheeran is back with a new album Divide and as expected, Divide is making waves all over the world.
The acceptance of the album is shown in the first-day streaming of the album on Spotify.
According to figures released by the streaming service, Ed Sheeran’s Divide shattered the Spotify record for the total number of streams on its first day out.
The song was released on March 3 and it has garnered an impressive 56,727,861 first-day streams.
This more than doubles the previous record, which was set by The Weekend with 29 million first-day streams of Starboy.
