In the trial of the former Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), Alex Badeh, which resumed on Thursday, Counsel to the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, Rotimi Jacobs, led a new prosecution witness in evidence.
The said witness is one Ms. Oluwatoyin Oke, a businesswoman, whom is reported to have sold a house located at Wuse 2 area of Abuja to Mr. Badeh.
The witness stated that she used to own and live in the house popularly known as No. 19 Kumasi Crescent, Wuse 2 Abuja a.k.a Plot 456, Kumasi Crescent, Wuse 2.
She informed the court that she put it up for sale in 2013 at the price of N260 million. She stated that, one Abba Maidama contacted her on behalf of his principal in respect of the property, he inspected same and proposed payment in three installments.
She also stated that she received the installments in dollar equivalents, until the full purchase price had been paid. She signed the relevant documents and handed over original documents to Mr. Maidama.
All documents relating to the sale were tendered in evidence.
The case was adjourned to the 2nd and 3rd of November for cross-examination of the prosecution witness.
