Eminem has bought all of the tickets for a movie theater in his hometown of Detroit and is giving them away to promote a movie he produced.
According to reports, Eminem wrote in a post on his social media that tickets to the event will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The film, titled ‘Bodied’, is a satirical comedy that stars Calum Worthy as Adam Merkin, a progressive-minded grad student who finds success but sparks controversy when his interest in battle rap as a thesis subject turns into a competitive obsession.
Directed by Joseph Kahn, who previously was best known for music videos, “Bodied” was produced by Eminem, his manager Paul Rosenberg, and Adi Shankar. When the film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2017, it won the People’s Choice Award: Midnight Madness and was later picked up for YouTube for exclusive streaming starting in late 2018.
