Barcelona has tied Ernesto Valverde to a new deal for 2019-2020, with his contract containing the option for a 12-month extension beyond next summer.
The Liga title-winning coach was set to see his current terms expire at the end of the season, but moves have been made to retain his services for another 12months with option of an extension.
A coach who guided the Blaugrana to a Liga and Copa del Rey double in his debut campaign had been due to see his current terms expire at the end of the season.
Questions had been asked of his future amid the uncertainty surrounding his ongoing presence at Camp Nou.

Despite his impressive domestic record, Valverde has faced criticism from some sections of Barcelona’s support.
Earlier this season the former Valencia and Athletic Bilbao boss had admitted he did not know if he would remain at the Nou Camp for the 2019-20 campaign.
