The seventh edition of the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) kicked off October 29 and will wrap up on November 4. The event which is all about African films, has so many listed events from film screening, to training, masterclass and of course partying. We highlight some of the top events scheduled for the AFRIFF.


Nigerian Arthouse Cinema

It is hosted by Surreal16 and the panellists which include Abba T. Makam, C.J. Obasi, and Michael Omonua will be discussing the creation of Nollywood. Nigerian Arthouse Cinema will hold from 1 pm to 3 pm on November 1 at the Genesis Cinemas, Lekki.

My Story, Their Money 

African music is more widely accepted today while for the movies, it still has a long way to go. This session will be hosted by Victoria Thomas (Django Unchained). It will teach upcoming filmmakers the best way to pitch their stories. My Story, Their Money will hold from 3 pm to 5 pm on October 31 at Genesis Cinemas, Lekki.

Preparations and precautions for film and TV production 

Isioma Idigbe, an entertainment lawyer will be to host this program. Attendees and guests will learn how to ensure their films and productions are not against the laws of a country. Punuka It will be held between 3 pm and 5 pm on November 1 at Genesis Cinemas, Lekki.

Production and Distribution of African Content

Kunle Afolayan and Olukayode Pitan, the Bank of Industry Managing Director are among the discussants. It will talk about the production and distribution of African content. It will hold from 3 pm to 5 pm on November 3 at Eko Hotels and Suites.

Documentary Screening

This is a Special U.S Embassy Documentary Screenings Open to Public. It will hold between 11 pm and 3 pm at Terra Kulture, 1376 Tiamiyu Savage St, Victoria Island, Lagos
