Loss of eyebrow hair is something that can affect different people across any and every age bracket. Eyebrow hair grows and develops at a slower rate than most hair. Most times, when it is lost, it takes time to regenerate its roots. To treat hair loss in the eyebrows, it is important to identify the cause in order to use the right treatment. Here are a few reasons:

-Excessive hair removal: if plucking, waxing, or shaving is too aggressive, this will make the hair growth more sparse and thinner. There is, therefore, a finite number of times when the hair can grow back before it becomes finally inactive.

Ageing: when one gets old, their body metabolism becomes increasingly slower. This is reflected in the hair growth (baldness) and the eyebrows are definitely not out of reach. This may be one of the most obvious causes.

Atopic Dermatitis: This is a scaly skin condition that causes rashes and irritation on the affected area.  This affects the eyelid area and can cause loss of hair in the eyebrows and eyelashes.

Stress and Anxiety: High-stress levels will result in the secretion of enzymes that will weaken the hair follicles.

If you have identified whatever the cause may be, there are natural ways to treat this depending on the varying factors.

Castor oil/ coconut oil: Apply a few drops of castor oil or coconut oil on the eyebrows at night before going to sleep and leave until the next morning. It will also work well if you want to grow your eyelashes.

Vaseline: Apply a little petroleum jelly with a cotton swab and rub over the eyebrows before bed.

It is ideal to keep eyebrow hair hydrated and conditioned. This is a good regime for growth.

Aloe Vera: Massage the area of the eyebrows with a little Aloe Vera gel and leave to act overnight. Aloe Vera helps restore hair and quickens its growth.

In addition to all these remedies, it is important to have a good diet with the right nutrients (vitamin A, B3, E, Zinc and so on). Also, note that excessive hair removal is one of the foremost and frequent causes. Therefore, ensure you trim your brows properly and with the right methods.
