Our darling Falconets did what their senior men colleague could not do after they qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2018 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Back forward to Russia 2018 and the Super Eagles needed just one point to go to the next round but fell 2-1 to the Argentines.
Fast forward to France 2018, the Falconets were in the exact same situation but by sheer miracle scaled through thanks to the heroics of Chiamaka Nnadozie and Rasheedat Ajibade.
The young girls had to settle for a 1-1 draw with China in their final group game played at the Dinan-Lehon Sltadium.
Zhang Linyan gave China the lead in the 41st minute and they were kept at bay for most part of the match by Nnadozie before Rasheedat Ajibade popped up in the 95th minute to tap in a cross from the right flank.
In the other group game, Germany defeated Haiti 3-2 to seal top spot in group D.
The Falconets will face Spain in the quarterfinal on the 16th of August.
