Roger Federer will most likely lose his number one spot to Rafael Nadal after he suffered a surprise defeat to Borna Coric in the final of the Halle Open.
Federer fell 7-6 (8-6) 3-6 6-2 to the Croatian to end his run of 20 consecutive victories on grass and his quest for a 99th career title.
Coric who also knocked out Germany’s Alexander Zverev is winning just his second ATP title.
Federer, meanwhile, will be hoping to be in shape fitness-wise by the time the Wimbledon will begin next month.
