20-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer has decided to focus on keeping his body fit for major tournaments after he withdrew his participation from next month’s Rogers Cup set to hold in Toronto.
The 36-year old has won three titles out of the seven tournaments he has participated in this year including his Australian Open win in January.
According to the Swiss tennis legend, his longevity in the sport is his priority.
“Unfortunately with scheduling being the key to my longevity moving forward, I have regrettably decided to withdraw from Toronto,” he said
Federer lost out of the Wimbledon event in the quarterfinal as he was beaten by South Africa’s Kevin Anderson.
