Former Liverpool, Chelsea and Spain striker Fernando Torres has joined Japanese side Sagan Tosu for an undisclosed fee.
The 34-year old made his final official appearance for Atletico Madrid as a 90th-minute substitute in the Europa League final defeat of Marseille though he also featured in their 2-1 friendly win over the Super Eagles of Nigeria after that where he also scored.
The World Cup and European Championship winner was part of Chelsea’s Champions League-winning team in 2012. He scored 126 goals in 314 matches in an eight-year spell in English football which included four years with Liverpool when he scored 81 times in only 142 games.
He also scored some crucial goals for his boyhood club on his second return leading them to a second place finish in La Liga and a Europa League title.
