The Access Bank Lagos City Marathon kicked off to loud buzz and excitement in the early hours of Saturday, February 2, 2019.
Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode made it to the race himself, as well as the MD/CEO of Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe.
While the starting point filled with over 100,000 runners who came prepared to race for the prize money of $50,000 for the winner of the 42km race, tons of others also showed up to cheers up the runners.
The first runner-up will receive the sum of 40,000 dollars and second runner-up has a 30,000 dollars cash prize.
For the indigenous runners, the winner goes home with N3 million, first runners-up, N2 million, while second runners-up will take N, Million.
