In these times of Corona virus, one of the most important things to do is boost your immune system. I know everyone is focused on other preventative measures such as social distancing and washing your hands but it’s also important to focus on the immune function because remember that Corona Virus affects people with weaker immune systems more. So in light of that, here are four ways to boost your immune system,

Diet

A good diet is very important in the battle against infection. Key elements in the fight include vitamins like A, C, E, B6, D, and minerals like zinc and iron.  Some foods that are rich in these vitamins include carrots, sweet potatoes, bell peppers,  avocados,  chicken breast, and beef. Note that, the more variety of fruits and vegetables you consume daily builds a broader spectrum of nutrients the body uses to boost its immune system.

Excercise

Just like a healthy diet, exercise can contribute to general good health and therefore to a healthy immune function. It may contribute even more directly by promoting good circulation, which allows the cells and substances of the immune system to move through the body freely and do their job efficiently.

 

Exercise for immune system

Get adequate sleep:

Sleep is important for health in general, and as a bonus, it may also benefit your immune function. While more sleep won’t necessarily prevent you from getting sick, skimping on it could adversely affect your immune system. To stay healthy, especially during this Corona Virus season, get the recommended seven to eight hours of sleep a night. This will help keep you in fighting shape and also protect you from other health issues including diabetes, and obesity.

Don’t smoke and reduce alcohol intake

This might not be so easy for a lot of people but drinking too much alcohol can weaken your immune system. Although regular heavy drinking is clearly the worst for your system, binge drinking can also knock out your immune system temporarily. It may not seem like a big deal to have your immune system impaired for only a few hours, but you have to be extra safe in these corona times. Smoking cigarettes, marijuana ( or any other drug) irritates the lungs and harms the system by making it less successful at fighting diseases.
