Former world champion, Carl Frampton has pulled out of Saturday’s fight with Emmanuel Dominguez due to hand injury.
The Belfast boxer, MBE revealed a large ornament in his hotel lobby was knocked over accidentally, fell on his hand and fractured a bone.
“I’m absolutely devastated,”
he added in statement posted on social media along with a video from the incident.
Frampton is a former world champion at super-bantamweight and featherweight was due to make his first return to the ring since his defeat by Josh Warrington in December.
“I’m extremely disappointed for the travelling support and for myself and for my team,” Frampton said.
“I’ve put put everything into this camp, I’ve been away from my amazing wife and kids for most of it and it all seems like a waste.
“Although it was out of my control, I’d like to apologise to Emmanuel, MTK Global, Top Rank, my team, my travelling support and to my wife and kids for being away so long.”
The 32-year-old had tweeted earlier on Monday that he had just finished his “last hard session” ahead of the bout.
The former WBO interim featherweight title holder since April 2018 also had a fight cancelled in 2017 when opponent Andres Gutierrez slipped in the shower ahead of the bout.
