Friday night football, live from the Premier League.
The Saints will be hoping for a first win in five Premier League matches when they welcome Brendan Rodgers and Leicester City to St Mary’s Stadium on Friday. Things havent been going brilliantly for Southampton of late, Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men are only above the relegation zone on goal difference, having taken just a single point from the last available 12.
Moussa Djenepo and Cedric Soares both remain unavailable for selection due to respective hip and calf injuries. Whilst for The Foxes James Maddison is doubtful after playing through the pain of an ankle injury in last weekend’s win over Burnley, while Matty James is a long-term absentee.
Leicester come into this one on great form, they currently sit 3rd on the table, and are only 2 points behind current champions, Manchester City. With 14 goals to their name in just the last four matches, Brendan Rodgers’ side will certainly be backing themselves to do the business, scoring goals and picking up all three points in the south coast.
Southampton are relatively lethal in front of their home crowd. The Saints have at least been able to celebrate at least one goal in 18 consecutive league fixtures.
