The 16th of July, 2016 marked this year’s edition of Access Bank Day 2016, driven by Access Bank Global in collaboration with Fifth Chukker. This year’s edition, which was held at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor UK, was aimed at raising money to help support UNICEF’s projects in Kaduna.
Access Bank’s UK CEO, Jamie Simmons, Group Managing Director, Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe, Head of corporate communications, Access Bank, Amaechi Okobi, media personality, Toolz, Ono bello, and Lisa Folawiyo were some of the guests in attendance.
In their speeches, Jamie Simmons and Herbert Wigwe, explained the benefits of the money raised through events such as the Charity Shield Tournament and Saturday’s Access Bank Polo Day, in supporting UNICEF with the much needed health care and education projects, specifically in the northern state of Kaduna.
A major highlight of the day was the Emir’s cup, with the local team Delaney and Keffi Ponies going head to head. Both were patroned by Damian Duncan and Ahmed Wadada respectively, with the Emir of Kano himself, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, making the ceremonial throw-ins at the beginning of each game.
His Highness, the Emir of Kano, presented prizes to the winning teams to bring an end to a very successful day for Access Bank and Fifth Chukker, at one of the most beautiful polo clubs in the world.
‘Mia Cambiaso- Only female player and MVP!’
This memorable day brought together amazing glamour from all parts of the world for an amazing cause. And while everyone looked positively alluring, it was the Emir of Kano that got everyone talking when he turned up in traditional regalia paired with a pair of gold Christian Louboutin spiked rollerball shoes.
Floral dresses seemed to be the style of the day and it definitely put the happy in summer. White was another popular look, adding even more class to the well to do event.
