Ariana Grande held her charity concert in honour of the Manchester terror attack victims over the weekend and it was awesome! In fact, we have no words.
From Justin Bieber to Miley Cyrus, to Black Eyed Peas to Katy Perry and so many more, all the stars came through and they slayed on stage.
Other performers included Take That – with a surprise appearance from Robbie Williams – Little Mix, Niall Horan from One Direction, Coldplay, Marcus Mumford, Imogen Heap, Pharrell Williams, Liam Gallagher and of course, Ariana herself.
The emotional evening turned fast into a powerful one with Ariana Grande’s heart warming message at the concert. About £2 million was raised for the One Love Manchester Fund.
Describing at the event, how she met with the mother of one of the victims, Grande said:
“The kind of love and unity that you are displaying is the medicine that the world really needs right now… I had the pleasure of meeting Olivia’s mommy a few days ago and as soon as I met her, I started crying and I gave her a big hug. And she said that I should stop crying, because Olivia wouldn’t have wanted me to cry. And then she told me that Olivia would have wanted to hear the hits.”
One stand out performance of the night came from the Paris Wood High School , who were joined for one touching and heartfelt song by Ariana Grande herself.
Taking to stage in front of 60,000 people at the Old Trafford Cricket ground, the local school choir sang their hearts out in tribute to the victims of the Manchester bombings – though it was too much for one girl, who was comforted by the pop star.
In what was one of the most emotional and heart-wrenching scenes of the night, Ariana strolled out as the choir performed her hit, My Everything, adding her voice to theirs. She stood in the middle of the children and comforted one young girl, who was overwhelmed with emotion during her choir’s big moment.
Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher sent the crowd wild when he made a surprise appearance, strolling out on stage to perform Rock ‘n’ Roll Star and House of Glass.
He then invited Coldplay’s Chris Martin to join him for a moving rendition of Live Forever, saying: “I want to dedicate this song to the beautiful people who were killed in the Manchester terror attack.”
It was Grande’s idea to stage One Love Manchester and she took to stage at numerous intervals throughout the evening, performing alongside Black Eyed Peas, Miley Cyrus, her boyfriend Mac Miller and Coldplay.
Oh and did you notice Katy Perry incredible shirt? It had photos of all the victims of the attack on the back. Really comforting gesture.
Our hearts go out to the victims of the terror attack.
