Lagos State hosted the first Iconic Catwalk show of the African Fashion Week Nigeria last weekend and it was fabulous.
The two-day event was a showdown of various facets of the African heritage.
Day one held at the National Theater, Iganmu, Lagos, while Day two took place at Tinubu Square.
Various designers, including Ayaba, Agatha, Swarovski, Yomi Casual, Zara and Zoe, among many others graced the runway with African themed styles.
The event opened with a great icon performance by Yoruba dancers who gave homage to Moremi Agasoro, the Yoruba deity who won battles during the ancient wars.
Speaking at the event, the Lagos State minister of tourism and culture expressed the Lagos State government’s readiness to partner such culturally significant events in future.
He charged the fashion industry not to give up at any point in time.
The runway filled up pretty fast with plus size and slim models, all looking gorgeous in their different outfits.
