Back in September 2017, Gucci announced it was going into collaboration with Harlem couturier, Dapper Dan for a brand new collection and now, the results are finally here.
The ad campaign shot by Ari Marcopoulos, features the entire collection that had for muse, the archival images of Dapper Dan’s vintage designs worn by rappers, boxers and bootleggers only this time, it comes with a Guccified twist.
Principally black models are seen robed in Dan’s signature oversized sweatsuit and leather bomber jackets designs, tracksuits, tanks, silk scarves in varying textures of velour, leather and nylon all bearing the Gucci red-green palette.
The models took to the streets in the ‘80s hip-hop inspired looks. Also a new yellow logo inspired by the original Dapper Dan store sign is stamped across T-shirts, caps and fanny packs while the GG logo is screen printed on the fabric.
The pieces are available to shop at Gucci certified shops.
