A reason why some women or ladies ‘hate’ the rainy season is because it causes their hair to fall off especially if it is exposed to the rain. This is a common problem in the rainy season. As such, you need to be extra careful about your hair as dirty rain water, acid rain and humidity in the air can damage your hair. Here are some preventive hacks to stop your hair from falling and keep your hair healthy when it rains.
Keep your hair dry
Wet hair can make your hair weak and cause damage. You may have the urge to get your hair wet in rain water, but you must remember that the dirty and acidic rain water can lead to hair fall. So, try to keep your hair dry in the rainy season to stop hair fall.
Eating a balanced diet is the best way to prevent hair breakage. This is because your hair needs certain nutrients to grow and stay healthy. Thus, you must add protein-rich foods such as eggs, kidney beans and carrots to your diet. Protein helps in strengthening hair follicles, which in turn stops hair fall.
Use the correct comb
Use a wide-toothed comb in the rainy season as it helps in detangling your hair in a proper manner. Also, do not brush your hair just after you wash them to detangle them. Let them air-dry and then use a wide-toothed comb to detangle them. This will cause less strain to your hair and prevent hair fall.
Keep your hair covered
The winds in the rainy season which are full of dust and dirt can lead to scalp infections and even cause hair breakage. Cover your hair with a scarf or a shower cap to protect them from strong winds and dirt. It will help you protect your scalp from humidity and infection. In addition, it will not allow your hair to smell.
Wash your hair after rain
If by any chance you get wet in the rain, ensure that you wash your hair when you arrive home. Doing this will get rid of all the acidic substances or chemicals that may find their way into your scalp.
Give your hair hot oil treatment
Hot oil treatments are used to give hair a deep conditioning treatment. You can use coconut oil, Avocado oil or olive to treat your hair whenever it is drenched in rain. This will ensure that it remains healthy.
Reduce the use of hair styling products
If you use hair straighteners to straighten your hair, you should stop using products in the rainy season. The rainy season is not the right time to chemical products as they make your hair greasy and flat.
