An ex NIMASA acting Director General, Haruna Jauro, who is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC for defrauding NIMASA of N304.1Million and converting same to his own use has informed the court on Monday that, he has entered into plea bargain with the anti-graft agency.
The accused was charged along with two others, Dauda Bawa and Thlumbau Enterprises Ltd. They had been arraigned on a 19-count charge.
It was at the sitting of the court on Monday, that the counsel to the accused, Mr Babajide Koku related the information to the court stating that, talks on the plea bargain has already commenced.
Mr. Rotimi Oyedepo, the prosecutor for EFCC confirmed the position to the court.
Following the reported position, the judge justice Mojisola Olatoregun, directed that the parties should go ahead and ensure a speedy deliberation. She fixed the next hearing for the 21st of November to report on the plea bargain.
