As we’ve mentioned, several Nigeria movies are being featured at this years Toronto International Film Festival 2016, including Ebony Life’s second movie debut, The Wedding Party.
As a result, there’s a number of Nigerian’s in Canada, rocking the festival. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s been happening at TIFF 2016 since opening night:
At the TIFF event labelled ‘In Conversation With…’, Genevieve Nnaji and Kunle Afolayan talks about the international rise of Nollywood. This was in a bid to celebrate this year’s City to City: Lagos Programme-
The conversation which was onstage allowed these 2 forces to unravel the complex behind the international rise of Nollywood.
Oh, let’s not forget how effortlessly gorgeous Genevieve looked for this event:
Then came 93 Days which was sold out at the film festival also received a standing ovation at the end of its premiere. The movie also premiered right here in Lagos yesterday on the 13th.
There was also the surprise birthday dinner for Mo Abudu who turned 52 on Sunday. We hear she celebrated in Toronto style (any style sef is fine because it’s just been such an awesome past year for her).
