Hillary Clinton and Steven Spielberg are working on a new TV drama together. Clinton is involved in adapting Elaine Weiss’ book The Woman’s Hour: The Great Fight To Win The Vote to television.
The book was published in March and centres around the activists and suffragettes who fought for women’s right to vote in the US.
The adaptation has been picked up by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television, who plan to turn it into either a TV movie or a limited series, and it could appear on broadcast TV or streaming platforms. Clinton will act as executive producer on the project, as will Weiss and Amblin TV co-presidents Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey.
In a statement, Clinton said: “At the heart of democracy lies the ballot box, and Elaine Weiss’ unforgettable book tells the story of the female leaders who — in the face of towering economic, racial and political opposition — fought for and won American women’s right to vote.”
