2022 will see HOMECOMING Lagos host performances from the most exciting musicians across Africa including Black Sherif, Asake, Boj, BNXN (Buju), Deto Black, Fireboy DML, Lancey Foux, Lojay, Midas the Jagaban, Zinoleesky and Teezee amongst others as well as a very special African debut from London’s very own Central Cee.
Additionally, HOMECOMING will be taking over luxury concept store, Alara, to showcase exclusive pieces from eminent labels such as Denim Tears, Off-White, Stussy, Patta, Cactus Flea Market, Motherlan & Ambush as well as a pop-up that will showcase Drake’s NOCTA collection for the first time ever in its physical form.
The weekend will also see a heavy emphasis on education with Homecoming, The Orchard & TikTok hosting panels, workshops and masterclasses focused on the business of music and creativity while breakthrough artist Slawn will discuss guerilla marketing.
In a year that has seen African artists top the charts across the UK and America & iconic names like Justin Bieber, Drake, Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran & Madonna look to the continent for inspiration, the past twelve months saw African art, music & culture completely dominate the global mainstream. The HOMECOMING community have played a pivotal role in this artistic explosion, championing African creativity, connection and transatlantic cultural exchange along the way. Over the past four years, the festival has hosted guests such as a Paloma Elsesser, Naomi Campbell, Julia Adenuga & John Boyega, Nigerian live debuts from Skepta, J Hus & Not3s and the first ever live performances from Fireboy DML, Tems, Rema & Lojay. Along the way, they’ve had a roster of Nigeria’s biggest stars including WizKid, Cruel Santino, Olamide, Naira Marley & Tiwa Savage grace the HOMECOMING stage.
