At a sitting on Tuesday, the members of the House of Representatives, made a proposal that, the dead soldier, Muhammad Abu-Ali whose rank was that of a lieutenant colonel before he was killed in a Boko Haram ambush on Friday, 4th November, be promoted to ‘colonel’.
Some members of the House commended the bravery of the slain hero and adopted the all recommendations made by an honourable member of the House, Abdulsamad Dasuki, in respect of the slain soldier.
Honourable Dasuki moved a motion praying that the Nigerian Government should employ the wife of the slain soldier into the civil service and give scholarship to his children to the highest level of Education.
He also prayed by his motion that all salaries and allowances due to Mr. Abu-Ali be immediately paid to his family.
It was noted by the House that, our dead hero had been on the battle field for four years and his three children are only between the ages of 1 to 5 years.
One minute silence was observed by members of the house in honour of the slain hero and his colleagues who gave their lives in service to the country.
Rest on great Hero! Our condolences to the family and friends he left behind.
