Whether you’re a newbie, a seasoned fashionista or just on the hunt for what to do this week in Lagos, flock over to the Balmoral Convention Centre, FEDERAL PALACE HOTEL between the 24 – 26th of this month to witness three nights of high fashion and creativity…
(See schedule below)
When attending the runway shows, one needs to keep these tips in mind:
Charge up all items
Just imagine sitting font Row, you’re getting an exclusive view of your favourite designer’s collection…next thing, your battery dies as you’re about to document a look OR your camera storage is filled so no more photos can be taken. Darling don’t let this be you, charge up & have back up!

Map your schedule out strategically
Weather, Parking, Transport routes… the unexpected has a way of occurring in Lagos so be strategic with movement. Traffic can be impossible during these days and weather condition could be challenging (e.g. the recent rains). Incorporate a stylish hat or waterproof outerwear into your fashion week ensemble on a rainy day.

Always be prepared
Prior research before the show will go a long way. Look up the most used hashtags for Fashion Week e.g. #fashionweek #lagosfashionweek #lfw #LFWSS19 etc.
Dress the part
Upcoming fashionistas could write to stores they’ve worked with in the past (written about or purchased from). Ask if you can pull items to wear during the Fashion Week and offer to credit them on your page.
Remember to jot down important information
This saves phone storage and documents profiles of people you may wish to ‘collab’ with post- Fashion Week.

If you’re attending solo, you will definitely need someone to take pictures of you so look around you & break the ice now! Asides from your seat-mates, most photographers are happy to capture street style.
