Do you like losing? No. There’s nothing pleasing about a loss. That’s why a lot of people prefer winning because it is sweet. But in order to win you need to position yourself for a win. So how do you always set yourself up for a win? Here are ways you can position yourself for big wins:
Break down your rules
Revisit your goals and break them down into smaller more achievable tasks – Every little action or choice brings you that one step closer to your goal and it doesn’t seem as daunting.
Just get started – making that first step will get you set in the right direction and create a momentum to keep you going forward. Often, it’s the first step that is the hardest to do. If it is fitness or yoga related for example – make a deal – “Just do 15 mins”. More often than now, you will find that those 15 minutes will fly by and you can keep going. If you only do the 15 minutes – then you have done what you promised in the first place. Win-win.
Keep track of your progress
It is only reasonable for you to track progress to ensure that you are on track. Having regular monitoring will keep you focused and moving in the right direction. If you do this, there is no way you will derail.
Set milestones and then incentives to reach them. It could be spending money on new workout gear without feeling guilty or a trip to the salon. Find your sweet spot and work for it. It’ll make that reward feel even better deserved.
Decide what you really want
Indecision destroys forward progress. If you are going to learn the process of winning, you must develop the habit of decisiveness. Your decision needs to be guided by desire. For it is desire, that can be your major winning companion. For where there is a desire there is a fire that will burn within your heart that will carry you all the way to victory.
