Focusing On MAMAs: Wizkid And Davido
In 2015, Davido was the man of the year, claiming the awards for best male and artiste of the year at the MAMAs.
In 2016, he was signed to Sony music, recorded a lot of international. Collaboration songs with Young Thug, Future, Usher, Popcaan and Trey Songz which he never released and lately dropping the EP “Son of Mercy”.
With all these, He couldn’t catch up with the train of MAMAs2016 due to his delay of projects and Hits.
Wizkid on the other hand was in Davido’s shadow in 2015 but cleverly workin on his outbreak.
He was able to have a hit remix of his song “Ojuelegba” with Drake and skepta, recorded collaboration songs with Tinie Tempah (Mamacita), Shabba with Chris brown, Trey Songz and French Montana, Soweto Baby with DJ Maphorisa, re-up with Emtee and more.
Drake’s “One Dance” having Wizkid on it was a high rank to the star boy’s profile as the song became the most streamed song 2016.
With all these, Wizkid became the Best Male, artiste of the year and also own the collaboration of the year at the just concluded 2016 MAMAs.
But I really believe that this is just the beginning for the two pop stars.
