Without question, everyone was wowed by Kim Kardashian’s cinched waist in her Met Gala gown.
The mother of three arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the annual gala in a body-hugging nude dress designed by Thierry Mugler, which apparently took eight months to make.
She wore her hair down in some loose waves which, along with her makeup, truly exuded a “California girl stepping out of the ocean”, as the look had been described to mean.
The gown was the first piece that designer Manfred Thierry has created for the House in over 20 years. Spun with silk organza and dripping with sparkling crystals, the Mugler number was made to mimic the wet shirt-dress that Sophia Loren wore in the 1957 film Boy on a Dolphin.
Kim has now explained how she really fit into a dress with a wist that tiny in a video.
Apparently, she could neither sit, pee, eat nor even and breathe (kinda) in order to squeeze herself into the dress, which took at least 3 people to help her fit into and lace up the corset that completely cinched her waist.
“Okay, so Anna [Wintour], if I don’t sit down for dinner, now you know why,” the reality TV star said, almost out of breath, in a behind-the-scenes video for Vogue, where she donned her corset and tights. “I’ll be walking around, mingling, talking, but I cannot hardly sit.”
“Wish me luck, I won’t be able to pee for about four hours,” she added. “We’re coming up with a plan for what we do in case of an emergency.”
About transportation, she said, “I asked them to get a stool. So I’ll have to stand as I’m riding in a sprinter van on the way there with, I think, a pole, so I can hold onto the pole. Just wish me luck.”
