Odion Ighalo has now been ruled out for four weeks after sustaining a recurrence of a former injury in Changchun Yatai’s Chinese Super League clash on Saturday.
The former Watford star was forced off with an injury in the 73rd minute of his team’s 3-2 loss to Obafemi Martins Shanghai Shenhua after receiving a kick to his left ankle joint.
Changchun Yatai are taking no chances as their marque January signing was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment after the game at the Development Area Stadium.
He is expected to be available for Super Eagles next competitive fixture against South Africa on June 10 that is if everything goes well with his rehabilitation.
