Australian Open champion Roger Federer seem not to be aging as he keeps brushing opponents aside, the latest being the Indian Wells where he is the defending champion.
The 36-year old Swiss defeated Jeremy Chardy 7-5, 6-4 to reach the quarter finals in an hour and 22 minutes.
Federer will next face South Korea’s Chung Hyeon who defeated Pablo Cuevas 6-1, 6-3 to progress.
Meanwhile, in the female category, Simona Halep brushed aside Croatia’s Petra Martic to progress to the semi-finals. She won 6-4 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 in 2 hours and 23 minutes.
She will next face Japanese Naomi Osaka who defeated Karolina Pliskova 6-2 6-3 in one hour 20 minutes.
