Russia’s Daria Kasatkina caused a major upset yesterday in the fourth round at Indian Wells after she stunned world number two Caroline Wozniacki.
Wozniacki was beaten 6-4 7-5 by the Russian which is a major setback to reclaiming her number one spot.
Kastatkina lost 10 out of the first 11 points of the match but hit 20 forehand winners and broke the Dane’s serve seven times.
Kasatkina will face Germany’s Angelique Kerber in the quarter-finals after Kerber defeated Caroline Garcia 6-1 6-1 win.
