Andres Iniesta is set to join Japanese side Vissel Kobe next season as against Chinese side Chongqing Dangdai Lifan who have been the forerunners for his signature.
According to Spanish media Cadena SER, the CEO of Rakuten, Barca’s shirt sponsor, has been personally conducting the deal, which will see the Barca star sign a 3-year contract at Japan.
This development comes after Chongqing had released a statement that Iniesta would not join them as a player but on a business basis.
It is believed that both parties have agreed to a 3-year deal worth €25m a year. Iniesta will also be allowed to bring his own team and construct a La Masia-like academy in Japan as part of the deal.
