Leicester City has been a fairy tale club since they made the impossible possible by winning the English Premier League.
As a result, they qualified for the UEFA Champions League at the expense of the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.
Their performance in the UCL for a first timer has been nothing short of outstanding. Their most terrible loss came against Porto in the group stage which they lost 5 nil away and since then, they have been on a roller coaster ride.
Now, they have a hurdle to play through as they face Atletico Madrid at home in the second leg of their quarter-final UCL match. They lost the first leg 1 nil due to a controversial penalty scored by Antoine Griezmann.
Interestingly, Leicester City’s destiny is still in their hands as they only need to score two goals while ensuring that Atletico does not score more than a goal. But first, they have to cancel out the 1 goal deficit.
Despite this, if they are to be judged by the game they played against Crystal Palace where they threw away a 2 nil lead that allowed Palace equalise and draw the match, they may probably not qualify. That is if they play that way.
This said Leicester’s fairy tale will largely not end against Atletico Madrid.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid plays Bayern Munich. The advantage is with Real as they defeated Bayern Munich 2-1 away.
