Nigerian recording artist, singer, and songwriter – Reekado Banks released his debut studio album dubbed “Spotlight” under the imprint of Mavin Records. The album houses 21 tracks including previously released hit singles like; Katapot, Standard, a remix of the well appreciated Oluwa Ni, and a skit.
Prior to the album release, the honcho of Mavin Records; who is accountable for engineering majority of the most solid productions in Nigeria, stated that the album will be off the hook.
All tracks on the album are produced by the in-house producers of Mavin Records i.e. Altims, Baby Fresh, and Don Jazzy.
We have listened to the album and we think it’s ‘nice’ but the question is, does the album certify him as the next rated artiste in Nigeria Comparing his album to Lil Kesh’s Y.A.G.I and Kiss Daniel’s New Era?
Knowing that the three were nominated for the category of Next Rated at the last Headies award along side with Cynthia Morgan and Korede Bello, it’s sort of understandable how Reekado’s victory led to a controversy.
