ISIS fanatics are at it again, only this time Real Madrid maestro Cristiano Ronaldo has been shortlisted.
The extremist group have threatened to behead Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in sickening new photshopped posters where they are shown in a mocked-up image pinned down on the pitch in a packed stadium with knife-wielding jihadists hacking at their necks.
Above the picture, released on Telegram by a pro-ISIS group was a chilling caption which reads ‘the ground will be filled with your blood’.
This is the latest in a series of online threats made against the World’s biggest football tournament with Barcelona star Messi being the target of similar warnings over the last one year and also Real Madrid youngster Marco Asensio.
In March, the Argentine was shown in an image on his knees wearing an orange Guantanamo Bay-style jumpsuit while in October another poster emerged showing the Barcelona star behind bars with a threat message, ‘I swear that the Mujahideen’s fire will burn you… just you wait’.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will from June 14 to July 15 and the final will be played at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow which has been the focus of the terrorist group in their messages.
