Issa Rae has definitely gone far beyond her days on ‘Insecure’.
Of the many projects she has been a part of, the latest is her current signing as the new voice go Google Assistant.
Google introduced the movie star on YouTube yesterday with a shot video, where she introduced herself, said some of her inspiring quotes, made jokes and let us know that “you can still call me your google assistant, now I just sound extra fly,”
First, we had Samuel L. Jackson as the voice of Alexa and now we have Issa Rae as the voice of the Google Assistant! Things keep getting better for the black community.
Issa’s voice in the Google Assistant will be able to read the weather, news, and tell jokes. Additionally, she will also offer “motivational messages” and users will be able to access a number of Issa’s unique sayings upon selecting her voice. To access it, all you have to do is either change the voice in your assistant settings or by simply saying, “Hey Google, talk like Issa.”
Among the questions that will prompt some hilarious responses are, “Do I need an umbrella today?” and “Tell me a secret.” To make sure that you get as much of Issa as possible, her voice will be available on any device that has Google Assistant, including Google Home and Smart Display devices, made possible by speech synthesis technology WaveNet.
