American presidents’ daughter, Ivanka Trump is shutting down her fashion brand, according to reports. Ivanka, who is also senior advisor to her father, President Donald Trump is said to have separated herself from the brand over for a year now when she joined the White House Staff. She only maintained ownership interest through a trust.
According to Wall Street Journal, Ivanka “contemplated the move in recent months after she grew frustrated by the restrictions she placed on the company, IT collection LLC, to avoid possible conflicts of interest while serving in the White House.”
Ivanka says via WSJ that she isn’t even sure about a future in retail business after her service in the government house is over “After 17 months in Washington, I do not know when or if I will ever return to the business, but I do know that my focus for the foreseeable future will be the work I’m am doing here in Washington so making this decision now is the only fair outcome for my team and partners”. She went further to say she was grateful to her Ivanka Trump brand team.
“I am beyond grateful for the work of our incredible team who has inspired so many women; each other and myself included, while we will not continue our mission together, I know each of them will thrive in their next chapter” her statement reads.
The fashion line, named after herself and launched in 2014 had become a target of boycott by those opposed to her father’s radical policies after the presidential election. The brand was dropped by several huge retailers after the plummet of sales performance.
