While she is in the running to star in DC’s Harley Quinn standalone movie, Janelle Monae has fully landed a major role in the forthcoming biopic about the famed abolitionist Harriet Tubman.
The film titled “Harriet” will dive into the life of Tubman, from escaping slavery to becoming a conductor on the Underground Railroad and successfully leading dozens of slaves to freedom during the pre-Civil War era.
It is not certain what J. M’s character is going to be but she is in the film with co-stars Cynthia Erivo, “Hamilton’s” Leslie Odom. Jr., and many more.
