It’s been a stellar week for Jay Z. Still fresh of his collaboration album with Beyonce, Everything is Love, Mr. Carter himself has just been named head of basketball operations at Puma. The sportswear and shoe company hasn’t signed an NBA player since Vince Carter left for Nike in 1999.

According to reports, Jay Z will have a hand in the players selected to join Puma’s basketball division, as well as assist in the art design and overall concept and direction of the brand and to celebrate it’s resurgence, Puma today honored basketball legend Walt “Clyde” Frazier with a lifetime contract.This wouldn’t be Jay Z’s first deal with a Sports company, In 2003, Jay-Z became the first non-athlete to get a signature shoe from Reebok, while the S. Carter became the fastest-selling shoe in Reebok history.
