JAY-Z’s latest series “Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story,” will be among the series to premiere at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival.
The lineup for the Film Festival was announced on Wednesday, including the television projects that are set to premiere at the festival and JAY-Z’s series was in the list.
The series will offer, a “definitive look at one of the most talked-about, controversial events of the last decade.”
Following the screening, Trayvon Martin’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin will speak to the audience. The six-part docuseries is based on their book “Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin.”
Last year, Jay-Z received praise for bringing the story of Kalief Browder to our television screens in “Time: The Kalief Browder Story,” which first premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.
“Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story,” premieres in July on the Paramount Network.
