It has been reported that a former chairman, house of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has sued the leadership of the house of Representatives, over his suspension from participating in the activities of the house.
The former chairman, who had accused the speaker of the house, Yakubu Dogara, his deputy, Yussuf Lasun, Chief Whip, Ado Doguwa, Minority leader, Leo Ogor and nine other members of padding the 2016 budget has prayed the court to declare his suspension a violation of his fundamental human right to freedom of expression.
Jibrin also sought a restraining order against the house from preventing him from participating in the Committees of the house or having access to the legislative chambers and performing his legislative duties.
The court, presided by Justice John Tsoho adjourned the matter to November 22 for hearing of the substantive suit.
