Jon Snow and Ygritte just made it official!
Game of Thrones stars, Kit Harington and Rose Leslie got married in Scotland on Saturday, June 23 at a church service and a celebration at the bride’s ancestral castle in Scotland.
The couple and guests arrived for the afternoon service at Rayne Church, close to the 900-year-old Wardhill Castle in northeast Scotland, which is owned by Leslie’s family.
The couple had announced their engagement back in September 2017 and now they have gotten married in the presence of family and friends, including other stars of the famous franchise, Game of Thrones.
The duo originally met on the show, where Jon Snow, which was Harrington’s character in the series, fell in love with a wilding, named Ygritte (Rose Leslie), but their love story did not last in the movie. Thankfully, it has lasted in real life.
The wedding made headlines when it was revealed they’d be shutting down production on the HBO show to accommodate literally everyone involved with the series — no, really, it seems like everyone was invited — and again, when an eagle-eyed fan spotted their announcement in the local paper.
After an impossibly long wait, and way too much Game of Thrones post-Ygritte (RIP) the magical day has finally arrived, and the Wildling and the Crow are together forever.
According to photos from People, Leslie looked gorgeous in a lacy, long-sleeved gown and breathtaking, delicate veil. Harington looked like a little groom from atop a wedding cake, so he was absolutely perfect too.
The groom also was dressed formally for the occasion, wearing a black jacket, a cream-colored vest and a pair of striped pants.
And the best part? Arya and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams) were there! Also at the wedding were Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, amongst others.
Congratulations to the latest Harrigtons!
