Juventus duo, Danielle Rugani and Blaise Matuidi have both tested negative for Coronavirus according to a statement on the Juventus FC website.
The defender and midfielder had tested positive for Covid-19 but have now made full recovery. French international midfielder Matuidi confirmed he had been diagnosed with the virus on March 18, a week after it was revealed that Italian defender Rugani had contracted Covid-19.
“Rugani and Matuidi underwent, as per protocol, a double-check with diagnostic tests (swabs) for the coronavirus. The tests came back with negative results. The players have, therefore, recovered and are no longer subjected to the home isolation regime.” Read the statement on the club’s website.
The duo have not missed any action, as Serie A has been suspended amid the pandemic. The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) is looking to resume the season in the coming months. FIGC president, Gabriele Gravina has praised Juve for its apparent stance against being awarded the Scudetto, as it tops the table at the time of the pause in play. Maurizio Sarri’s men are a point clear of second-placed Lazio with 12 matches remaining.
