Africa is renowned for her indigenous colorful print fabrics from Aso-oke, Ankara, Kente, Adire and several more; and they all tell of a rich cultural history.
Nigerian menswear designer, Kamsi TCharles is tapping into this aspect channeling culture and history and fabric, blending all three into creating a beautiful collection.
The brand titled the collection Church Service enacting a symbolic link between the Western religion, ethics and fashion trends and it’s reflection on Africans.
Speaking on the collection the Creative Director Kamsi Charles says:
“Church Science collection is about how the Europeans made us disregard our beliefs, values and dress cultures. How today we (Africans) dress like the western world, sound like them and feel more religious than they are without corresponding development because we have failed to realize that religion is more of an art than science.”
