Kanye West and Jay-Z’s friendship was put under the microscope after the 4:44 rapper seemingly exposed the cracks on his track, Kill Jay-Z and Yeezy has a few words to say about it.
The track actually didn’t ignite the feud after it was long rumoured that the hip hop titans were no longer tight, despite having made Watch The Throne together.
It stemmed from one of Yeezy’s rants during one of his Saint Pablo shows last year.
According to the Joe Budden podcast, co-host Mal revealed that he had bumped into Kanye and quizzed him on his thoughts about Jay-Z’s track (Brave Man).
Kanye West, who is about to get real about Jay: Z’s friendship on new album, reacted as narrated:
“He said he’s got a few words in response to what Jay had on 4:44 when his next record is coming out. He wasn’t smiling. He was smiling before that conversation started. He said some funny shit.
“Yeah man, I was next to Jay for years standing right next to him – why he didn’t give me them jewels he put on the album?”’
According to Jay’s rap lines on the opening track, Kill Jay-Z:
“I know people backstab you, I feel bad too. But this “fuck everybody” attitude ain’t natural/ But you ain’t the same, this ain’t KumbaYe/ But you got hurt because you did cool by ‘Ye/ You gave him 20 million without blinkin’/ He gave you 20 minutes on stage, fuck was he thinkin’?/ ‘Fuck wrong with everybody?’ is what you sayin’/ But if everybody’s crazy, you’re the one that’s insane.”
